RITES OF PASSAGE TEACHER TRAINING

(The Revolutionized Maiden to Mother 4.0)

NOVEMBER 13, 2023 - SEPTEMBER 2024

Re-envisioned for the revolution

with a revolutionary roster of teachers emphasizing:

🦴decolonization

🦴climate crisis

🦴community relations

“IN MAIDEN, WE WAITED FOR THE GOOD TO COME.

IN MOTHER, WE ARE THE GOOD THAT COMES.”

— Sarah of Magdalene

The bridge from Maiden to Mother was buried.

When the Goddess & Her cultures were shattered & vilified, so too were women’s Rites of Passage into our wild, intuitive femininity and maturity.

With Maiden to Mother, artist & teacher Sarah Durham Wilson excavates these ancient rites, guiding us through a sacred and crucial initiation from the patriarchal Maiden into the archetypal Mother―the powerful, safe, compassionate, full-bloom feminine life force that exists within all of us.

Becoming the Mother is every woman’s birthright―regardless of whether or not she raises children.

The Mother is who we needed as a child, who we were meant to be in this life, and who the world needs us to be now.

There comes a time to mother the Maiden within

& stand as Mother to the World.

That time is now.

“Through stories, teachings, rituals, practices, song & meditations THE MAIDEN TO MOTHER JOURNEY IS an archetypal map to inner Mothering,  primordial power,  inner wisdom  and wholeness.”

— SOUNDS TRUE PUBLISHING, Home of Clarissa Pinkola Estes & Marion Woodman

THE MAIDEN TO MOTHER RITE OF PASSAGE

IS THE INITIATION INTO THE BIRTHRIGHT

OF OUR SOVEREIGN, INTERDEPENDENT

& PRIMORDIAL FEMININE MATURITY

Maiden to Mother is a pilgrimage out of patriarchy

in a mystic circle of women.

The Maiden to Mother passage

dissents from the patriarchy

and descends to the Goddess within.

The Maiden to Mother rite of passage

initiates us into archetypal Mother,

where we can hold ourselves,

the world, & others.

The Maiden to Mother passage

moves us from

helpless to helpers,

from

isolated to communal,

transactional to relational,

hierarchical to communal,

hopeless to active hope,

reckless to rooted,

frozen to forward.

“Sarah brings her gentle and deep wisdom to walk us through the ancient rites lost to us. Her words have helped me and now they will help you.”

— CREE SUMMER, Singer, Artist, Actress (“A Different World”)

TEACHER Initiation

The Teacher Training takes place every year and initiates new Maiden to Mother (and Rites of Passage) Teachers

through the Maiden to Mother work as well as teaches them to teach it.

(Sarah loves teaching teachers. As a Sagittarian Sun, it’s in her blood).

You will be taught the tools to teach the Maiden to Mother Work through the mediums of:

⦿ one on one work

⦿ circles

⦿ workshops

⦿ retreats

(This year will birth a BRAND NEW MANUAL from the bones of the previous 3 year’s Teacher Trainings.)

You are meant to make this work your own. This work is meant to weave in with the gifts and magic you already bring to the world.

What does it mean to initiate as a RITES OF PASSAGE GUIDE?

To hold space as guide

for women in transitions in their

ever-changing lives

& in this ever-changing world.

Living as a Rites of Passage Guide means

you are prepared to walk women

through the stages of rites of passage:

through separation/death of the Maiden

the other world/Underworld

and reintegration, the return/Mother.

Once we learn the rhythm of the rites of passage, we can hold space as all humans navigate the constant shedding and rebirth of natural life, the death of what they knew, the visit to the other/underworld, and the rise/return of them to integrate their otherworldly experience medicine and wisdom, especially of death & the dark feminine into the upper world culture.

It is to die to the old,

To fall & eventually surrender into

the Unknown.

It is to meet Allies & guides

It is to leave the old behind.

It is to return

as the new version of you,

Holding a boon.

Pre-colonial times, Rites of Passages empowered

us to be witness and bear witness to others’ lives

through ceremonies and rites.

We honored the deaths, big and little

and all the births, subtle or profound,

in our lives & communities too.

We re-invite you nowto witness yourselves & others’ lives -

Through all of life’s births, deaths & otherwise - with these

blueprints, maps & ceremonial rites.

“In a world that worships the maiden, this beautiful work is an invitation to move into the archetype of mother, which is the most profound gift we can offer ourselves, our inner child, the earth, and the collective.”

Ruthie Lindsey, speaker + author of “There I Am: The Journey from Hopelessness to Healing”

MAIDEN TO MOTHER AND BEYOND

TO INITIATE INTO MOTHER IS TO BECOME A WISDOM CARRIER FOR THE WORLD.

IT IS TO BECOME THE WATER FOR THE BURNING WORLD & RESTORE THE SHATTERED TRADITION

OF THE WISE WOMAN LINEAGE,

OUR SEASONAL REALITIES &

RITES OF PASSAGE.

While the Maiden to Mother Teacher Training is built to initiate women out of patriarchy and into feminine maturity,

to stand as Mothers to themselves & the world,

RITES OF PASSAGE/MAIDEN TO MOTHER 4.0

weaves in powerful new curriculum including:

the Mother Lover: “Reviving the Lover in the Mother”

the Mother Wolf: “Taking the Patriarchy out of Parenting”

The Midlife Rite of Passage Work: “From the First Act to the Second”

Men & the Mother: “Tools for Men in their Rites of Passages to the Mother & Eternal Father Archetypes”

the Rite of the Crone: “Initiation into Elderhood”

to this living body of work.

We are honored to introduce this year’s guest teacher panel:

MEET YOUR GUIDE

SARAH OF MAGDALENE

Welcome. I am a mother, an artist, a mystic, a writer, a storyteller, a teacher, a tantrika, an activist and a post-patriarchal, whole-ass, revolutionary woman.

I live in the land of the Wabanaki people, the first people of what is now called Maine. They were called “the Greeters of the Dawn.”

The light sure breaks early here, and as a mystic who loves to wake to hear Goddess, I love that.

My path is the rose petaled one of the Goddess. I have two black furry familiars, Odie (affectionate for Odin, God of the Runes). He adopted us in New Mexico & we call him our house husband. He does his best with a house full of the wild feminine, by that I mean he submits as well as he can to constant squeezing, cuddling and being chased & chewed by our black lab, Ridley.

I wanted to name Ridley, “WUNJO,”  which is the Rune for JOY, because she broke the spell of malaise of my midlife crisis,

but my six year old daughter Avalon was watching a fictional account of the fictional Indiana Jones’  daughter named “Ridley Jones” &  she naturally won the name game. (Because when I was six, I got to name our Golden Retriever, “Picnic.”)

But it  turns out that Ridley means “a clearing in the woods,” which is just what it felt like when we adopted her. There was a break and some respite in the dark woods of the midlife crisis.

Also, I was a rock & arts journalist (Rolling Stone, GQ, Vanity Fair, Interview magazines) before I worked for the Goddess. I've worked for the Great Mother for 13 years now, since a Kundalini Awakening to the Mother in 2011.

Before Her, I got fired

or left out the back door

from every job

but the one I was meant for.

Working for Her—

Highly recommend it,

best job ever.

My witch awakening led to the priestess path which led to my archetypal Maiden to Mother work.

And now here I am, deep in my Midlife Midwife work: the juicy,  liberating work of the Second Act of Life and the Midlife Awakening.

Leading this cohort which blends all my passions is a dream come true.

Speaking of—

My Passions:

The Goddess, the Mother in All Her Phases & Phases.

Resurrecting the Ancient Primordial Feminine lineages of  wisdom again. Living life through the lens of rites of passage. Women rooted together in the earth on the ground like mother trees in relational community. Revolutionary Tactics & Black Feminist Praxis. Centering Mothers, Earth, Children. Ancient Mystic. pre- colonial,  Love.

LOVE NOTES FROM students

“Thank you so much for the incredible container you created and provided for us; it was nourishing for my body, mind, spirit and soul. It was such a pleasure and an honor to receive your medicine. I definitely feel the effects of our powerful work today and I can feel it resonating in me toward my future as well.”

Liz

“Follow your deepest knowing that may not yet have percolated into your thinking brain (the part of us that is mired down in logistics, the part that is conditioned for compliance & struggle). You know when you know and I can vouch that the sublime guidance of Sarah will illuminate your journey towards the second half of life..towards your freedom, your sovereignty. I honestly do not know how I could have continued on the way I was carrying on prior to this experience and the rites of passage Sarah led. I was exhausted, depleted, sucked-dry from patriarchal ways of being. Ways that were passed down from society and generational trauma. I am released. I now remember who I am.”

RoseMary

“My Midlife Split. The Death of Act One. Blood, fire, and bones. Sacred circle with Sarah and a coven of dangerous woman. Held. Holding, Witness, Tending, Celebrating this Death. Loud. Catastrophic. A rising, arising.”

Krista

“Fuck Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. My gratitude to you for creating and opening this space cannot be expressed enough. So many more things have happened, so many more insights and truths have been revealed since our retreat. My ember is glowing, My desire to set fire to life is HUMONGOUS. I say yes and acknowledging a phenomenal weekend.”

Diana

“I HIGHLY recommend this immersion for any woman who wants to say goodbye to their first act and begin their second act with a loving guide and whole coven of mature women surrounding her. I cried, I laughed, I GRIEVED, and was held so lovingly through it all. I am also held in loving accountability to integrate and continue the work. It is hard to use words to describe the experience because it is so embodied. I returned less than a week ago and will be integrating for a long time.”

Libbie

“Working with Sarah and mature feminine souls in this sacred space was an incredible experience. It was pure magic. During this gathering, I finally came back home to myself and to my wild feminine power. I would attend EVERY one of Sarah’s retreats if I could.”
